| I didn't think it would be this hard to NOT deploy. About an hour ago I
watched as 120 of my friends got on buses to take them to the airfield
where they would board a plane headed for iraq. I watched their family
members cry. I saw the looks on there childrens faces as they tried to
figure out where there mom/dad was going, and when they would be coming
back. I was supposed to go with them. but i'm not. the doctors won't
let me. instead i am stuck here, waiting, praying, and hoping that 12
months of now all of them will return safe and sound to us. I feel so
helpless... please pray for my friends and support your troops. |

| On Apr. 23, the day before my block leave started, the doctors decided that i would not be allowed to deploy due to my hydrocephalus(water on the brain for those that don't know). This is not a new development. I have had the condition my whole life. They have known about it the whole time i've been in. They refuse to make me nondeployable, but they won't let me deploy either. This is something i won't stand for. Games like this put my my family through an unnecessary amount of stress... In about a year/ year and a half when my contract is up i will be leaving the military, and my wife and i will be moving back to kansas. It may be difficult to live in this economy, but that is a chance i am willing to take to save my family that stress. |
